A New Way to Fly to Long Island in The Bahamas
Blue holes, white-sand beaches, boundless adventure. Long Island has always been one of the best-kept secrets in The Bahamas.
This fall, Long Island is about to get major new service from the United States market.
On Dec. 14, Makers Air is launching new service between Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and the Stella Maris resort on Long Island.
Reservations will launch on Oct. 23.
It will be the only direct scheduled international flight between Florida and Long Island.
“As we embark on this exciting journey to Stella Maris, Long Island, we are thrilled to bring a direct connection from Florida to this hidden gem in the Bahamas,” said David Hocher, President and Owner of Makers Air. “Long Island has so much to offer, and with this new route, we hope to provide a much-needed travel option to both vacationers and residents.”
Stella Maris, long the premier place to stay on Long Island, just reopened for the season this week.
Flights will be operating twice weekly, operating on Thursdays and Sundays.
Service from Fort Lauderdale will depart at 1 PM, while the return flight from Long Island will depart at 3:30 PM.
At Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, travelers get free valet parking, easy check-in and a boutique lounge.
